Kaartdijin Noongar - Sharing Noongar Culture is an electronic resource that is a means for the Noongar community to store, share, express and sustain various aspects of Noongar culture. Kaartdijin Noongar is a database of audio, visual and textual materials that can be accessed by a website.
Rigorous permission processes apply to the donation of material to Kaartdijin Noongar. These processes are detailed in the Kaartdijin Noongar - Sharing Noongar Culture Permission Form.
The protocols that are in place enable information to be shared on Kaartdijin Noongar - Sharing Noongar Culture with different levels of restrictions placed on them. In short, these restrictions can be made to apply to gender, to claim group area, or at the level of individuals or families.
There are 4 administrators that manage user groups and access to the database. This ensures that there is constant attention to questions of access in the event of usual absences of staff, and so that the workload of administering a potentially large databse with many members is manageable. It is a requirement that these administrators respect the confidentiality of the material provided. The administrators must agree by consensus about any changes to the way that the access of user groups is managed.
